SSG are delighted to announce the launch of James Moloney’s new recruitment business. We’ve worked with James to help him with his recruitment start-up, and we’ll be supporting him on an ongoing basis. To celebrate to launch of his new business, we spent some time with James and asked him to tell us a little bit more about his journey in the recruitment industry up to this point.
Tell me about your recruitment background?
I started in 2014 with a retained search firm working in medical devices, a brief and colourful stint in startup land before taking a business unit lead role with a medium sized agency in January 2017.
I believe specialist, single sector agencies are the future. In a digital world where the entire job market is at your fingertips, clients and candidates expect something more than a generalist approach. That high-end consultancy service is something I know works and which I wanted to offer in a dedicated way. I’m pretty confident my predictions about the next ten years of recruitment are right, and it was time to back myself and put my money where my mouth is.
What sectors do you cover? What roles do you specialise in?
Medical Devices, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Health Tech. Mainly Sales and clinical, but also executive, operational, finance and marketing.
What can customers expect when they work with you?
A quality over quantity approach. They don’t have time to read 20 CV’s, and I don’t have the time or inclination to send them 20. We do it right, and we only work with people we like, respect and have common values with.
What are your long-term plans for the company?
We never want to be a giant corporate entity. Our ambition is realistic and quality driven – in the next 3 years, we would expect to grow to around 8 heads within our core market.
We’d like to thank James for sharing his experiences with us, and we look forward to working closely with him as he continues to build on his vision.
