The Launch of Ribchester Recruitment

Ribchester Recruitment

What motivates entrepreneurial recruiters to start up their own recruitment agency?  Why do they decide to make that leap of faith?  And what experience do they need to successfully start up a recruitment business.  We sat down with Jo Ribchester of freshly launched Ribchester Recruitment to find out how her journey had brought her to this point.

Jo initially fell into recruitment in 2004 when she went to register with an agency looking for work and ending up getting a job as a Consultant – an experience that I’m sure many recruiters recognise.

A core part of Jo’s training was recruiting in an ethical manner, which made a lasting impression, and Jo loved the role so much she stayed in it for 8 years.  Jo’s career has predominantly been within Commercial recruitment with a brief dabble in Industrial recruitment, before realising that wasn’t where her passion was.

So, what next?

Jo says, ‘I’d always wanted to set up my own business and, after having three children, I found I was looking for a better work/life balance but wasn’t ready to give up on my career, it was then that I saw an SSG advert.’  After speaking to Ash, Jo saw how achievable it was, with hard work, to start her own recruitment business and gain that work/life balance.

And so, Ribchester Recruitment was born.  Recruiting for anything from Senior Management to Office Support roles including Accounts/Finance, across a variety of industries.  If a company has an office within Lancashire and Greater Manchester, Ribchester Recruitment can help.

What can Jo’s customers expect?

First and foremost, a friendly, professional, upfront service and not to feel pushed or pressured.  Jo’s grounding remains with her and she continues to work with strict ethics on how she feels a recruitment agency should conduct themselves.
The aim is to work with the customer to make sure they are receiving the service they expect and deserve.

Long term?

Jo hopes to be able to recruit extra staff and then set up different specialist sectors within the business, then branching out into other geographical areas.  Of course world domination is the ultimate end game…..watch this space!
